The Chemical Hazards Communication Society run many events in the year. This page lists forthcoming events and those that we have been organised in the past.

  • 18th November 2015: CHCS 4th Annual Lectures and 21st Annual General Meeting

    Our Provisional Agenda is as follows: 

    • From 09:30: Registration - coffee, informal networking, visit Exhibitor stands
    • 10:00: CHCS AGM
    • 11:00-11:30: Break - coffee, informal networking, visit Exhibitor stands
    • 11:30: Annual Lectures

      • Camilla Pease, Senior Manager - Environment & Health, Ramboll Environ - “An introduction to Adverse Outcome Pathways and their application in regulatory decision making” - What are Adverse Outcome Pathways, why you need to start making yourself aware of them, and how they can help with fulfilling REACH & CLP and other product stewardship obligations.

      • Sara Kirkham, Senior Consultant, CEHTRA - BPR obligations for formulators and downstream users” - An overview of some of the key practical issues for formulators and distributors, including treated articles and labelling obligations; in situ generated active substances; authorisation of biocidal products; choosing an authorisation type; sourcing active substance from an approved supplier (Art 95 obligations); data requirements for products; consortium formation and BP families; comparative assessment

      • Mick Wragg, Senior Global Product Steward - Industrial Additives, Lubrizol - “CLP Article 45 poisons centres and what it means for industry” - What will it mean in practice for companies to comply with the new requirements for harmonised information to be provided to poison centres, due to be published this Autumn by the European Commission?

      • Kevin Pollard, Head of Unit of the Dossier Submission & PIC Unit, ECHA - [Title to be confirmed, but covering ECHA’s 2018 Registration Roadmap & dossier management & dossier update]

    • 15:30: Finish

    Please note the meeting will commence promptly at 10:00 am. Coffee and tea will be available from 9:30 am and lunch will be provided at approximately 1:00 pm.

    This year we are also pleased to host a small table-top exhibition, featuring companies providing products and services to the “chemical hazard” community, so whether it’s the latest SDS software you want to see, or you need help with managing your REACH registration obligations, our exhibitors will be happy to talk to you.
