Membership of the Chemical Hazards Communication Society should bring the following benefits:

  • Opportunity to exchange personal views on chemical hazards communication free of any constraint of business, trade or other association, or governmental policy

How To Join CHCS

Please complete the MS Word application form electronically and send attached to an email to: (or to open this address in your email system). Alternatively please download and print the pdf version of the application form, complete and return either by scanning and attaching to an email, or fax to +44 (0) 844 636 2428, or by post to CHCS, PO Box 22, Lymington SO42 7GY.

The CHCS membership year runs from 1st September to 31st August. Anyone joining the Society for the first time after 1st June is granted membership through to 31st August of the following year, ie for a period of up to 15 months. That concession does not apply to former members rejoining CHCS.

If you wish to join (not rejoin) the Society in order to participate in a CHCS Seminar or to attend CHCS training, and that CHCS activity is due to take place within the three month period between 1st June and 31st August, the following applies:

  • In order to secure your place, from 1st May onwards you may submit simultaneous applications for CHCS membership and for the CHCS activity. Your membership will start on the first (or only) day of the Seminar/training, and your invoice will reflect that date. Please note that no reservation of places will be made until the signed original membership application is received at the CHCS Office.

  • Important – if the required activity occurs in May, a current subscription will apply to new members  attending; and that subscription will expire at the end of August in the same year.

The membership subscription, for those joining CHCS before 1st June 2012, is £53.00 (pounds sterling) PLUS £10.60 VAT (Total £63.60). The membership will expire at the end of the CHCS year on 31 August 2012.

There are a limited number of bursaries (free membership) for applicants from developing countries. Please apply be sending an email to the CHCS Office: (or to open this address in your email system).
